Your chain is in charge of your momentum and should be checked regularly. Replace it if necessary. A chain breaking, while you are at full throttle, often leads to a knee to the stem or an unintended front flip over the bars. Chain tension should neither be to loose, nor too strong. If you can move the installed chain one centimeter up and down, you should be good. Buying a new chain always means you have to cut it. Therefore we strongly suggest a chain breaker from our tools category. With a so called half-link you can perfectly adjust the chain length to your frame and sprocket. There are also chains completely made from half-links. These are way stronger than regular chains, but are also a little bit more expensive. If your chain keeps coming loose, you need chain tensioners. Integrated chain tensioners only work on special frames. Please choose from one of the categories below:
