Bars

Bars

The handlebars let you steer your bike. Important specs are height and width of the bars. Furthermore Upsweep (grip angle upwards) and Backsweep (grip angle backwards) can be different. The common trend moves towards very high and wide handlebars, which does not necessarily have to improve the handling of your bike. Good handlebars are made from chromoly and have butted tubing to save weigth. For more durabilty some handlebars are also heat treated. Shape-wise there are two piece and four piece bars. Two piece design gives the clean Motocross look, while four piece design offers a lil bit more room for your feet. Special Flatland bars have no backsweep, so the bars feel the same when the are turned 180°. Race handlebars have a slimmer crossbar to save weight.
